So you’re pretty sure you know all there is to know about 3D printing technology. You’ve spent many hours in study, have many more hours in the practical application of your knowledge and you’re a whiz at taking tests of all stripe. Then welcome, my friend, to a contest which is firmly in your wheelhouse – The Stratasys 3D Printing Knowledge Challenge.
This online sweepstakes runs from June 1, 2015 to August 31, 2015, and it’s open to all U.S. and Canadian residents age 18 and over. Well, almost any of those people. Employees of Stratasys or any of its affiliate companies, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies or family or household members are, sadly for them, not eligible.
But if you’re none of those excluded parties, you can enter by heading to 3dprinterchallenge.designnews.com and filling out a simple form. From there, you’re on your way to taking the timed test. There are, of course, some requirements used to determine your eligibility like a check against your email to make sure you’re not a 3D Printing Knowledge Bot, and you’ll be limited to a single entry per person, per month.
It will all be resolved at the end of each of the next three months as winners will be selected based on who holds the # 1 rank on the score board when the contest closes.

And taking down a win will be quite lucrative indeed.
Each month’s winner will receive an iPad valued at $300, and the winner will be notified by email. If you want to take home the top prize, you’ll need to meet the eligibility requirements set forth in the rules. The winner will also be required to sign an “affidavit of eligibility and liability,” and agree to a publicity release. Seeing as this could be considered a very “geek friendly” sort of contest, the ‘Sweepstakes Party’ are concerned that some underhanded means might be attempted to grab up one of the iPads.
Ithere’s the merest hint you’ve used some sort of lowdown method to win, the contest team says you’d be prohibited from participating in the Sweepstakes or winning a prize if it’s determined “you attempted to undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair practices or intended to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or Sweepstakes Party representatives.”
So it comes down to this: be fast, be smart and be there.
To be notified of the winner by snail mail, you can send a self-addressed stamped envelope to UBM Canon, Attention: Amanda O’Brien, UBM Canon, 2901 28th Street, Ste.100, Santa Monica, CA 90405 following the close of the three contest periods after August 31, 2015. Will you put your ego on the line and take the Stratasys 3D Printing Knowledge Challenge? If you do, let us know how you fared in the 3D Printing Knowledge forum thread on 3DPB.com.
