It seems as though this summer has been rather slow compared to several months ago, when it comes to the release and unveiling of new 3D printers. While the winter and fall saw many crowdfunding campaigns launch to bring new 3D printers to market, this summer has hardly seen any. For one Barcelona-based company, called Printhatshit, this summer has allowed them to release two new 3D printers without much competition.
“We have been spending a few months on a new project and now we’re ready to commercialize it,” Fran García of Printhatshit tells 3DPrint.com. “As you can see (in the video below), the ResinCat 3D –PTS- is an optimal high speed and high-resolution printer, which can print at speeds [of] 3cm/h. There are two models to choose [from], the HD version and the HD+ version, with the difference between them being that one (HD+) has a bigger print surface and better resolution than the other one (HD), although both of them have excellent qualities.”
The ResinCat 3D PTS HD+ 3D printer is priced at €2,450 (approximately $2,703), while the HD version comes in slightly more affordable at just €1,920 (approximately $2,118).
The HD+ version provides the following specifications:

- Layer Thickness: 20-100 microns
- XY Resolution: 92-93 microns
- Layer Height: 0.20mm
- Print Speed: 3cm per hour
- Printer Dimensions: 35 × 39 × 84 cm
- Power: 110-230 V ~ 60 / 50Hz 360W
- Weight: 12 kg
With similar specifications, only slightly less impressive, the HD version provides the following:
- Print Volume: 146 x 109 x 190 mm
- Layer Thickness: 20-100 microns
- XY Resolution: 135-141 microns
- Layer Height: 0.20mm
- Print Speed: 3cm per hour
- Printer Dimensions: 35 × 39 × 84 cm
- Power: 110-230 V ~ 60 / 50Hz 360W
- Weight: 12 kg
Both machines also are built of out of a strong aluminum structure, provide for easy leveling, a removable base, and much more. They come with a printer control program which allows users to edit the dimensions and positioning of their prints on the print bed, prior to starting a job, as well as automatic support generating to ensure objects’ overhangs print correctly.

Additionally, Printhatshit also has released several printing resins which provide for different types of printed material from castable, to elastic, to high definition.
While there are a lot of 3D printers on the market, leaving consumers with a lot to choose from, Printhatshit seemingly has created two high quality machines and they have been able to price them within a range suitable for both hobbyists and prosumers alike.
